Health Care Ethics – The Impact of Culture
Drs. Agnes Tiwari and K. H. Yuen, University of Hong Kong
The context of the lesson is health care ethics built on a traditional reading about the ethical assumptions behind everyday discourse. Finally, this lesson includes a well-integrated assessment of progress in developing critical thinking skills. This assessment is done by the professors, and, perhaps just as importantly, it is performed by the students themselves. This type of internalization of the criteria for demonstrating strength does much for developing the habits of mind of demanding strong critical thinking dispositions. This chapter is a jewel of a lesson – one to be contemplated and remembered. Tiwari and Yuen bring us a thoughtful discussion of the impact of culture on the expression of thinking and judgment.
