Client & End-User Responsibilities
Use, administration, scoring, and interpretation of the assessment tools published by the California Academic Press is the sole responsibility of the purchaser and user. Insight Assessment strongly recommends that persons using the CCTST or other testing tools should observe ethical, academic, and professional standards in the use, administration, scoring, and interpretation of those instruments.
Many professional associations have published guidelines regarding ethical practices in educational testing. One might consult “Principles of Good Practice for Assessing Student Learning,” issued in December 1992 under the auspices of the American Association of Higher Education, One DuPont Circle, Suite 360, Washington DC, 20036; “Ethical Standards of the American Educational Research Association,” issued in October 1992, AERA, 1230 17th Street, NW, Washington DC 20036; and “Standards for Educational and Psychological Testing,” issued in 1985 by the American Psychological Association Inc., also at 1200 17th Street, NW, Washington DC, 20036.
