Accreditation Self Studies Document CT Gains
The Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities – NWCCU-- publishes accreditation standards that encourage its member institutions to think critically about how their faculty and administration would most benefit from a self study of institutional effectiveness and a plan for improvement in student learning. When the outcome identified is developing students’ critical thinking, Insight Assessment has many supportive solutions for ongoing assessment to validate student achievement of these learning outcomes.
NWCCU Standard Number 4 requires that schools have an ongoing systematic collection and analysis of meaningful data that can be used to evaluate the accomplishment of planned learning goals and that can guide new initiatives to increasingly meet theme objectives.
- Data from your ongoing critical thinking assessment projects can be managed within the Insight Assessment electronic testing system. Comparative studies and integrated reports can be created accurately and efficiently by your campus staff using your downloadable data files. For those who require additional assistance with results presentations, reports appropriate for inclusion in your self study can be provided as a premium offering, compiled by Insight Assessment’s experienced support staff.
NWCCU accreditation standards require that the results of the assessment of student learning be used to further enhance student learning and inform academic support programs.
- Information about overall strength in critical thinking skills, comparative percentiles with national norm samples, and individual scores for Analysis, Inference, Evaluation, Inductive and Deductive Reasoning provide rich information for accomplishing these goals.
Results of student learning assessments are also expected to be made available to all appropriate constituencies.
- Insight Assessement's presentation ready reports of your critical thinking assessment projects provide you with graphics and tables that can be quickly integrated into campus documents, serving as the evidence base for demonstrating accomplishment of learning initiatives and providing a basis for developing future educational goals.
