Client & End-User Responsibilities

Administration of testing instruments published and sold by Insight Assessment / The California Academic Press, and the interpretation and use of reported test scores provided by Insight Assessment / The California Academic Press, and the administration and use of other educational assessment tools published by Insight Assessment / The California Academic Press is the sole responsibility of the purchaser and user.

This notice applies to all forms of the California Critical Thinking Skills Test (CCTST), The Business Critical Thinking Skills Test (BCTST), The Business Reasoning Test (BRT), The Business Attitude Inventory (BAI), The Health Science Reasoning Test (HSRT), The test of Everyday Reasoning (TER), The Legal Studies Reasoning Profile (LSRP), The California Critical Thinking Disposition Inventory (CCTDI), The California Measure of Mental Motivation (CM3), and other instruments of these kinds sold by Insight Assessment / The California Academic Press.

Insight Assessment strongly recommends that persons using these and other educational testing tools should observe commonly accepted ethical, academic, and professional standards in the use, administration, scoring, and interpretation of those instruments. Many professional associations have published guidelines regarding ethical practices in educational testing. One might consult "Principles of Good Practice for Assessing Student Learning," issued in December 1992 under the auspices of the American Association of Higher Education, One DuPont Circle, Suite 360, Washington DC, 20036; "Ethical Standards of the American Educational Research Association," issued in October 1992, AERA, 1230 17th Street, NW, Washington DC 20036; and "Standards for Educational and Psychological Testing," issued in 1985 by the American Psychological Association Inc., 750 First Street, NE, Washington, DC 20002-4242
