How do the HSRT and CCTST differ?

The HSRT is actually a form of the college level CCTST designed especially for testing health sciences professionals and students in health science programs. The main difference between the two is the context of the item scenarios. The generic CCTST has item scenarios set in everyday situations, whereas the HSRT items use contexts of the health sciences workplace. But no health science knowledge is tested by the HSRT and so the instrument can be used with entering students as well as experienced professionals. We have learned that students in these areas engage the tests more readily because they value learning that they see as relevant to their careers.
