Our instruments are used by clients around the world, and in some cases for high stakes testing purposes. Insight Assessment, like other major testing companies, does all that it can to protect instrument security and integrity. Our instruments are protected by international copyrights. We do not knowingly sell testing tools to bookstores and libraries or to individuals who do not meet our purchaser qualifications.

Our online testing system uses encryption. All tests are scored by Insight Assessment. And we make other efforts as well to ensure the quality, integrity and security of our testing tools and test scores.

Scale Structures & Item Responses:  Researchers often inquire about the possibility of receiving information about which items on our instruments are used to create which of the scales, or information about how their test-takers responded to each of the items on the instrument. However, to further protect test security and because it is proprietary, information about scale structures and individual item responses is not available.

We reserve the right at our sole discretion to discontinue testing services and not to honor requests to purchase instruments if we believe that there may be a risk to instrument security. We do not support the work of individuals who are primarily involved in psychometric training. We do not permit our instruments nor any of the items used on them to be published in journal articles or in dissertations. Designated sample items may be cited and included in publications but only after obtaining written permission from Insight Assessment.

Through our Basic Reporting Service clients, doctoral students and researchers receive the scores for their test takers and use these data to carry out their various projects. If additional statistical analyses are needed regarding the performance of our instruments in specific samples, these analyses can be purchased through our Premium Reporting Service. Similarly, if a researcher requires specialized comparison norms, these are available through our Premium Reporting Service. However, information regarding which items are used to create which scales and information regarding how test-takers responded to individual items will not be provided -- again, for test security reasons.
